Portal application layers
The attached diagram illustrates the general Navigo portal and content management. Basic functions can be extended to the portal with stock portlets, third party free or commercial portlets, and by portlets that can be produced to customer specific needs.
The different levels of the system are linked to external systems via standard technologies. Portal centralizes user management and personalization, user identification can be connected to external single sign on services and user data management to external directories.
Portlets, and application components can integrate to external information systems by using Web Services technologies.
Customer-specific applications can be provided their own data banks.
